Direct from Tangier to your heart, the flight of Novedades Carminha touches the mainland with “Ultraligero” (Ernie Records, 2019). The fifth year of the Compostelan quartet is a round trip for the musings of dance music, but also its greatest compilation of expansive hits to date: an absolutely unprejudiced devotional pop, which will undoubtedly represent the great change of paradigm of a band willing to win the Champions League of pop territory. “Ultraligero”, recorded entirely (except for “Ya no te veo”, which was recorded at Mans Studios) at the La Mina Studio in Seville with Raúl Pérez’s production and the band itself, took the studio’s experience to a new dimension: spacing the recording of the songs in different phases (from the first of them, “Te quiero igual”, in the first half of 2017, until the last phase of production, at the beginning of December 2018, almost a year and a half from top to bottom). It is, at the same time, a concept album around dance music, a compilation of singles and the most solid and coherent repertoire of Novedades Carminha to date.
